Stretta® Therapy, an effective and minimally invasive treatment for Gastric Reflux Patients, is now available for patients insured with BUPA.
Stretta® Therapy is a highly effective and minimally invasive procedure that offers an alternative to invasive surgery or implants. Stretta® Therapy uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to strengthen and improve the function of the valve, known as the lower oesophageal sphincter (LOS), which prevents regurgitation or reflux.
Stretta® clinical studies show improvement in every measureable outcome for Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD), including up to a 93% patient satisfaction score, while demonstrating symptom relief lasting a minimum of 4 years.
According to NHS Choices, GORD is a common digestive condition with 1 in 5 people experiencing at least 1 episode of GORD a week and 1 in 10 people suffering from GORD symptoms on a daily basis. The condition affects people of all ages and both sexes, including children. However, males and adults aged 40 or over develop gastric reflux problem and further complications.
Debbie Owen, Patient Advisor at StrettaCentre, commented:
“We have a high number of patients with private insurance wanting to have a Stretta® Procedure. This news is very supportive and will help to provide insured patients with access to the Stretta® Treatment in a private hospital setting near to their home and family.”
“We have an increasing number of Physicians that are seeking training in the Stretta® Procedure to support the patients seeking the Stretta® Procedure.”
